Buying an artificial Christmas tree this holiday might mean everything but this: that you’re restricted to just a few choices and have no option of taste or preference. For a fact, we create our Balsam Hill Christmas trees with shades of color and textures based on the characteristics of the natural species. Plus, they require little care and never need pruning.
NEEDLE TYPE
The type of needle is determined by the material it is made of. Polyethylene (PE) needles have more dimension than PVC needles, which are flat and paper-like. Artificial Christmas trees typically feature both of these– and their PE count is just as high as how realistic they appear.
TRUE NEEDLE
A collection of injection-molded PE needles reproduces the texture, structure, and color variations of natural evergreens available from Balsam Hill
CLASSIC NEEDLE
Featuring the classic look of an artificial Christmas tree with soft, flat, and bendable PVC needles
LEVELS OF REALISM
A tree is realistic based on the kinds of needles it has. And at Balsam Hill, trees are categorized into three main levels.
MOST REALISTIC
A high percentage of true needle (PE) foliage is combined with classical needle (PVC) foliage by the trunk, adding additional depth
REALISTIC
Mixing traditional needle (PE) foliage with classic needle (PVC) foliage to give a look that’s realistic and affordable
TRADITIONAL
These are our most economical trees, featuring 100% Classic Needle (PVC) foliage.
SPECIES
Certain species may hold memories for you from your childhood Christmas trees. So we use real branch clippings as inspiration and create molds of highly realistic artificial Christmas trees based on them.
FIR
There are several branches with thin needles sprouting from the stem in a dense clump
SPRUCE
Branches with needles that grow in single strands. A spruce needle differs from a fir’s by being four-sided and having sharp tips
PINE
The trunk is surrounded by sparser branches, with needles clustered in twos, threes, or fives
